Group Retreats
We invite you to discover Kawkawa Camp and Retreat Centre, located on the shores of Kawkawa Lake in Hope, B.C. set on 20 acres of mountainside forest we offer year-round facilities for conferences and retreats, as well as our full range of Christian summer camp programs that specialize in leadership training and personal development. Camp Kawkawa is the perfect place for men’s, women’s or youth retreats as well as family gatherings, homeschool events and cooperate events. Activity options include a bouldering room, archery, riflery, frisbee golf, hiking trails, team-building games as well as our water-based activities such as canoeing, kayaking, surf biking, swimming and water toys.
The natural beauty that surrounds us at Kawkawa offers the ideal setting to step out of your normal day-to-day life and spend time apart with God, others and yourself. We offer the space for spiritual growth, rest, renewal and personal reflection. We can tailor a program to suit your group whether a day visit, an overnight, weekend or week-long stay.
Accommodation
Our facility is open year-round with winterized accommodation and meeting rooms for up to 130 people. These facilities include a large dining room that seats 150 and has incredible, unobstructed views of the lake. Several break-out rooms include a games room, a chapel and meeting rooms. Our accommodations, which are nestled in tall old growth forest, include 4 cottages (each sleeping 8 people), 4 chalets (each sleeping 12 people) and a 17-bedroom lodge (each room sleeping 2 people) with laundry facilities and handicap washrooms. For a little bit more luxury our cozy 2-bedroom waterfront cabin (sleeping up to 4 people) is available at additional cost. Kick back on the private deck and enjoy peace, tranquility and the breath-taking lake and mountain views at the end of a busy day.
Kawkawa Lake
Our camp and retreat centre is situated on the shores of the beautiful Kawkawa Lake, which is home to many species of fish, but is best known for its large kokanee, (land-locked salmon). The name of the lake is taken from the Halq’eméylem word Q’áwq’ewem, meaning “home of the loons”.
Meals
Healthy, quality meals are served regularly and provide the opportunity for conversations around the tables reflecting on the days’ activities. Special dietary needs of individuals with food allergies and intolerances are met with alternative meal options. Enjoy our outdoor pizza oven or opt for a beach BBQ on the shores of the lake for that special dining experience. Here’s a sample menu!
