LADIES CRAFT WEEKEND
- Date: Friday November 8th – Monday November 11th, 2024
- Cost: $319.00 Incl GST
Each November long weekend, women of all ages and experiences are invited to Kawakawa Camp and Retreat for a time of relaxation, laughter, conversation, space, and oodles of time to work on creative projects.
Whether you’re a chronic crafter or just need a break from routine, there’s something here for everyone at this annual retreat. The setting, with a large fireplace and beautiful views of the lake, make for a great time to curl up with a blanket, rest or read. Meals are cooked for you so there is time just to do what you want to do and take care of yourself: Time to craft, read, relax, hike and connect with like-minded women. Such a space allows for multi-generational interactions. The stories that the grandmothers tell about the mothers who talk about the daughters makes for lots of fun, stories and time-tested advice.
A number of women use this weekend to finish quilting, knitting or paper craft projects. However, there is the opportunity to learn something new. Small group classes are offered by volunteers. In years past, ladies have had the opportunity to learn to arm knit, make jewelry, paint, make cards, and sew a baby blanket. With the gift of time from our talented volunteers and fellow crafters, there are usually multiple sign-up options. These sessions are offered at various times for an hour or two in the morning or afternoon.
Come and meet other crafters and join us for a wonderful weekend where connections are quickly made around the love of creation and creativity.
